Welcome Eileen Yanoviak to JSP Staff

Welcome Eileen Yanoviak, Director of Engagement

We are thrilled to announce the addition of Dr. Eileen Yanoviak to the Josephine Sculpture Park team! Eileen brings more than twenty years of experience in art museums and education. Most recently, she served as the art teacher at Sacred Heart Model School in Louisville, Kentucky. Prior to that, she was the Director of the Carnegie Center for Art and History in New Albany, Indiana, where she focused on providing free access to arts and cultural experiences through public art, art and history exhibitions and programs, and a robust youth education program that reached every public school child in the county.

Founding Director Melanie VanHouten shares more about why she selected Eileen for this role. "She brings a wealth of experience in art non-profits and a genuine passion for JSP's mission. Adding a Director of Engagement will help grow our community of supporters as we celebrate the 15th anniversary of JSP this year."

Eileen has also worked at the Speed Art Museum, KMAC Museum, and Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts in a variety of curatorial, development, and education roles. She is a published author and holds a PhD in Art History from the University of Louisville, with expertise in American Art, Landscape, and Environmental History.

Eileen shares what has drawn her to the role of Director of Engagement at the park. "The park and public art in the community provide opportunities for people to connect, be active, and live creatively. I know the arts and natural spaces improve the quality of life for residents while building the cultural capital of the region, and I am proud to help provide equitable access to those experiences for all people." She adds, "I look forward to introducing new audiences to JSP while building relationships with long-time patrons and supporters during an exciting time of growth for the organization."

If you were at Barn Raisin' on June 9, you got to meet Eileen as she dove into our dynamic fundraising event on her first week on the job. Eileen will soon become a familiar face to park visitors and supporters as she shares the numerous ways to contribute and become a more involved friend of the park. Join us in giving her a warm welcome!
