Explore JSP in a new way at one of our upcoming events!
Learn how you can help Eastern Bluebirds and other cavity nesting birds thrive in Franklin County this 2025 nesting season! At the volunteer training led by Wild Birds Unlimited (Frankfort) at Josephine Sculpture Park (JSP), you will gain hands-on experience in how to monitor the Bluebird Trail nest boxes and help prepare the nesting boxes for spring. This training is important to attend if you would like to become a volunteer Bluebird Trail Monitor at JSP or West Sixth Farm. Thank you in advance for registering so we can prepare supplies.
The JSP Bluebird Trail thrives in partnership with Wild Birds Unlimited (Frankfort) and with funding support from Beckham Bird Club of Louisville, Kentucky.
Explore flowery public art on a JSP-guided walking tour (30 min) and get inspired to hand-build and glaze paint 2 flowers with guided instruction at Broadway Clay (90 min)! It will take about 3 weeks for Broadway Clay to fire and prepare your finished magnets. Take home a JSP "meadow magic" seed packet day-of to start growing living flowers while you wait! The workshop starts and ends at Broadway Clay. All ages and levels of clay experience are welcome; children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
JSP eco-art workshops are seasonal, intergenerational art making experiences in partnership with local artists that inspire creative community connections and care for each other and the land.
Josephine Sculpture Park's Artist-in-Residence (AiR) program supports visual artists working in sculpture, including sound and performance as responsive experiences to sculpture and the natural environment, to make new work on a large scale at JSP. The Request for Proposals (RFP) for the 2025-2026 AiR program will be available March 12 and close May 14, 2025.
Prospective artists are welcome to join JSP staff for a virtual info session to learn more on April 2. JSP will present an overview of the program and proposal criteria and reserve time for questions. The presentation will be recorded and posted to JSP's website shortly after the session.

JSP and Broadway Clay team up with the City of Frankfort Parks, Recreation & Historic Sites to lead a ceramic flower painting activity inspired by Floral River by Xavier Cortada, the mosaic mural installed at the Transit Center. Place these flowers by your home tree sapling planting site to spark more environmental stewardship! Volunteers will provide painting instruction and educate participants about plants for pollinators and how their actions help activate Cortada's mural.
We respectfully acknowledge that Josephine Sculpture Park exists on the traditional land of the Shawnee, Osage, Cherokee, Yuchi, Adena and Hopewell Peoples.
