Support JSP

Josephine Sculpture Park is a non-profit 501c3 public park supported by memberships, donations, grants and volunteers.

We want to sincerely thank every one of you who have helped us to succeed by donating your time, energy and resources; from the nickel in your pocket to the dump truck loads of stone, every single gesture has helped to make this place a reality. Thank you and we hope to see you at the park again soon!

Supporting Josephine Sculpture Park

You can support JSP in many ways. Consider these charitable giving options that may offer you significant tax savings while ensuring that our arts and landscape remain for generations to come.

Cash. Write a check or use a credit card and take a charitable income tax deduction if you meet current IRS rules. It’s simple. We will send you a receipt for your taxes.

Give Today

Securities. Gifts of appreciated stock or mutual funds held long-term can be very tax wise. If you have a loss on your securities, sell them first and donate the proceeds. If you have long-term gain, donate the securities directly to us to maximize your benefits.

Privately Held Interests. We also accept gifts of closely held or restricted securities. Before you sell a business interest, talk to us about possible tax savings.

Retirement Plans. Name JSP as a full or partial beneficiary of a retirement plan and avoid the taxation of this asset that occurs when left to your heirs. This is a simple and revocable way to give that is easy and quick to do. Qualified Charitable Distributions for those 70 ½ or over with an IRA are an excellent option if you don’t need or wish to recognize that income.

Life Insurance. Holding old policies that are no longer needed? Receive an income tax deduction if you meet IRS guidelines for donating a paid up policy. Or, you can name us as a beneficiary of a current policy.

Cryptocurrency/Personal Property. Cryptocurrency can be donated. Collectibles, art, fine wine, equipment, and other types of tangible personal property can also be donated. Tax consequences differ, so discuss first with us and your advisor.

Oil, Gas, and Mineral Interests, Patents, Copyrights, Royalties. Almost anything of marketable value can be donated. As with other complex assets, tax consequences differ. If you will be taxed on an interest, talk to us and your advisor before you liquidate.

Real Estate. Donate long-term appreciated marketable real estate and avoid capital gains taxes as well as the burdens of property management.  Consider donating vacation or second homes that are no longer needed. Commercial property can be an excellent asset to donate. Please contact us to discuss.

Estate/Trust Gifts. Naming us in your will or trust is one of the simplest and most lasting ways to create or continue your legacy. Ask us for more information.

Gifts That Provide You With Income. There are many gift vehicles that can provide you or others with a stream of income, fixed or variable. Most of the assets described above can be used. We are happy to discuss these options.

Please contact Melanie VanHouten for more information. Also, please be sure to consult with your own advisor as we cannot provide legal or tax advice. We would be honored to assist you in planning your gift. Thank you!

Thank you to our many generous donors.
