ARTIST PROFILE
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Nicole Bovasso was born in Mt. Arlington, New Jersey and presently resides in Jacksonville, Florida. She received her BFA with a concentration in sculpture from the University of North Florida in 2015. She works primarily with casting materials, from wax and resin to iron and bronze, as well as other sculptural mediums like fiberglass and steel. Fascinated with the idea of Felix Culpa: The paradoxical concept that the plague of decay brings the panacea of growth— that evil must occur in order for a greater good to exist, her sculpture explores how this affects our daily lives. Many of her works have been exhibited in galleries throughout Jacksonville including the UNF Gallery of Art, Monroe Gallery in downtown Jacksonville, and 3rd Street Gallery in Jacksonville Beach.
