ABOUT THE ARTIST
Mar 28th, 1947 – Dec 8th, 2012
Greg began making stoneware pottery at his Owen County residence in 1974. His whimsical and unorthodox approach to design brought him many fans and collectors of his work created in either his gas fired or wood fired kilns. . He served as an artist-in-residence at many schools across KY leading students to create tile murals that still exist today. Herb & Clarence are a rare example of outdoor sculptures created by this KY legend.
"My work has always been one-of-a-kind with some limited production. I make gallery pieces and sculptures and many cups and bowls and tableware pieces, but I’m always making subtle and not so subtle variations in clay body, size and shape, and glazes used. About one third of my pieces are wood-fired."
Art is currently on display at West Sixth Farm.
