Explore your relationship with the land at Josephine Sculpture Park's eco-art workshop! JSP founder and chief curator, Melanie VanHouten, will share a 30-minute guided tour of Linda Bruckheimer's
Lost and Found Farmscapes exhibition. Then multidisciplinary artist,
Toby Penney, will guide you through simple yet powerful techniques for creating vibrant landscape paintings using watercolor. Whether you’re a first-time painter or a practicing creative, this workshop offers a peaceful, hands-on opportunity to connect with nature through art.

JSP welcomes youth ages 10-18 to a 3-day SPRAYFiNGER® workshop with Artist-in-Residence, Peyton Scott Russell! SPRAYFiNGER® is a graffiti arts community dedicated to elevating the art and culture of graffiti through educational programs and collaborations. SPRAYFiNGER® finds freedom in the flow of working with spray paint, in experimenting with color and line making, practicing the art of creative lettering, moving the aesthetics of graffiti into new mediums and contexts, and embracing continuous exploration. Participants will move from visualization to conceptualization to creating a strong composition on GRAPHOLOGYHENGEto be publicly unveiled at SoundScape! Music & Art Festival on Saturday, July 12.
Workshop fee (nonrefundable) includes instruction, supplies and 2 tickets to SoundScape! Music & Art Festival on Saturday, July 12. Participants must bring a refillable water bottle, lunch, a snack, personal sunscreen, and any necessary medications.

Artist Talk ft. Peyton Scott Russell

Deepen your understanding of graffiti as a teachable fine art with Minneapolis-based artist, Peyton Scott Russell, who joins the central Kentucky community as Josephine Sculpture Park’s 2025 Artist-in-Residence. Peyton will present a 30-minute talk followed by Q&A.
Peyton Scott Russell has a B.F.A. from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and for over four decades has been a professional artist and arts instructor. In 1984, the film, Style Wars, introduced Peyton to graffiti art and the world of Hip-Hop. From that point forward, he has devoted his time and energy to graffiti art. Currently, Peyton is focused on his organization, SPRAYFiNGER®. Peyton has engaged with individuals of all ages throughout Minnesota; North and South Dakota; Wisconsin; Kentucky; Kansas; Nevada; New York; Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; and Tel Aviv, Israel.

Portals, Pathways, and the Space Between Us is a series of exhibitions curated by Sso-Rha Kang in collaboration with The Carnegie, Covington, Kentucky and KADIST that explores placemaking, shapeshifting, and the temporalities of Kentucky through the Ohio River.
Experience live music and poetry from artists Belle Townsend, Trish Gibson, Bayley Amburgey, Willie Carver Jr, Jeri Katherine Howell, and Grace Rogers. featured in Backwoods Literary Press' Discarded: A Rural Anthology. Then, explore 3 video and sound pieces throughout park at your own pace. Enjoy beer by West Sixth Brewing.
