Josephine Sculpture Park partners up with Red Oaks Forest School to host a free, all-ages Art Club the second Saturday of each month! Art and nature are perfect partners. Creating art helps us explore our feelings and deepen observations of the world around us. Nature is constantly inspiring so many feelings, wonders, thoughts, questions, and more. Spending time in nature and making art, both help to reduce stress and explore feelings, which can be so important for kids, especially in underserved communities.
All ages are welcome for an open art studio in nature. We welcome registration by email to ensure there are plenty of materials available.

Bluebird Trail Monitoring
Every Saturday April 4-July 25, 10-11:30am
Do you love birds? Would you like to participate in a community science project and volunteer to help our local eastern bluebird and cavity nesting bird populations? The JSP and Wild Birds Unlimited Bluebird Trail needs volunteers to get trained and monitor the nest boxes on the trail during the nesting season (April-July, Saturdays from 10am-11:30am at JSP). Lisa Beran is the main Bluebird Trail monitoring coordinator and will be working directly with volunteers each Saturday throughout the nesting season. Come help us PREP the trails!

Carried by the Wind: Expressive Arts Grief Workshop
Saturday, May 12, 1-3:30pm
$10 - Please register (age 18+)
Through nature connection, art making, and ritual, this expressive arts workshop offers a supportive space for adults experiencing grief to honor loved ones. Artist Mollie Rabiner will share her process behind creating JSP’s forthcoming Wind Phone installation. Then, licensed art therapist Danielle Creamer will facilitate a guided nature walk, collaborative altar creation, expressive art-making, and closing letter ritual. Participants are invited to acknowledge grief as a continuing expression of love.
JSP’s Wellness in the Wild program strengthens community health through outdoor movement, the arts, and connection. The Wind Phone project is in partnership with the Kentucky Center for Grieving Children & Families and is supported by grants from South Arts and Kentucky Arts Council, the state arts agency, which is supported by state tax dollars and federal funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Honor artist Mollie Rabiner as she unveils her Wind Phone sculpture commissioned by Josephine Sculpture Park! JSP's wind phone by Mollie Rabiner is one of three in Kentucky, and of
hundreds worldwide. We will also honor JSP's partners in this project, including the Kentucky Center for Grieving Children and Families, South Arts, and the Kentucky Arts Council. Delicious drinks provided.
