Sculpture Saturday: Rounded Corners, Pointed Curves by Kiah Celeste
This week during 𝗦𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗽𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆, check out an install and interview with JSP Artist in Residence, Kiah Celeste. Her second of two sculptures on exhibit at Josephine Sculpture Park, Rounded Corners, Pointed Curves, is a continuation of her series I Find This Stable, which features abstract works made from exclusively repurposed, recycled materials who’s components are in interdependent intimate relationships through balance, tension, form, weight, materiality, color and maneuverability. In Rounded Corners, Pointed Curves, the overwhelming weight of concrete cubes grant the exercise balls the ability to compress against each other and stay afloat, while the gentle cradle of glass panels supports this tense and devoted embrace.

Kiah’s residency was made possible with support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
