nARTure Tuesday: Art in Nature Camp Week 2 – Cattail Crafts

Happy nARTure Tuesday! Let’s check in with our Art in Nature Campers and their special guest, Roberta Burnes, who taught us all about the generosity of cattails. Did you know that cattails can provide food (leaves, flowers & pollen), water (when you see cattails, water is near!), and shelter (you can weave dried leaves for waterproof roofing and it’s great habitat for birds)!? Campers made their own floating ducks and learned how to make a simple cordage using sun-dried then re-soaked cattails.
