JSP Partners with Centre College Community Based Learning Class

This January, we are partnering with students in a Centre College environmental education and community based learning class to gather stories from the public about the impact Josephine Sculpture Park has had in their lives and in the community.

Students are working with Centre College Assistant Professor of Education, Dr. Ellen Prusinksi, and JSP Program Director, Jeri Katherine Howell, with the aim to both contribute to the work of JSP and better understand how their classroom discussions about environmental education connect to the “real world” experiences of environmental educators.

Students are conducting video interviews with volunteer participants and summarizing their findings in broad themes. And the end of January, students will travel to JSP to explore the park and present their findings to staff.

On behalf of JSP board and staff, we thank Dr. Ellen Prusinski, Centre College students, and interview participants for sharing their time, stories, expertise, and kindness during this fantastic and collaborative project.
