Winter Wings: Intro to Bird ID & JSP Bird Count!

Have you ever wanted to learn how to ID birds? Are you an experienced birder wanting to ID the species at JSP? Do you enjoy being outside? Making nature-inspired crafts? You’re going to love Winter Wings! Take part in the nation’s longest-running community science bird project that fuels the National Audubon Society‘s work throughout the year.
*If you have binoculars, please bring them!*
1:00 to 1:30 PM – Intro to Birding presentation with Kristin Nelson of the local business Wild Birds Unlimited
1:30 to 3:00 PM – Team up with experienced birders from the Frankfort Audubon Society to identify, count and record the different bird species throughout Josephine Sculpture Park. This data will be submitted as part of the national Christmas Bird Count by Audubon. (More info: https://www.audubon.org/conservation/science/christmas-bird-count)
3:00 to 4:00 PM – Make a bird related craft to take home or gift just in time for the holidays! Also peruse the many wonderful products that Wild Birds Unlimited has available to help you support your bird friends at home.
