Join us for a weeklong Virtual Barn Raisin’ to raise funds for Josephine Sculpture Park! Each night at 7 PM from Sunday, August 16 to Saturday, August 22, we will release a live concert performance from an artist made especially for JSP and YOU! View the concerts on our Facebook Page and YouTube channel.
By virtually attending this awesome event, sharing it with your friends and family, and making a donation (any amount helps!), you help JSP add 10 acres to the park and restore an historic tobacco barn to host more creative community programs, exhibits and events!
Co-founders Scz and Yared Sound of Rhythm Science Sound bring us a deejay set of music to dance and feel good. Rhythm Science Sound is a Louisville-based collective of sound artists, deejays, and music/tech educators who work to preserve, develop and forward the culture of global dance music. Scz is a multidisciplinary artist, cultural producer, educator and scholar whose work focuses on decolonization, migration, identity and belonging. They believe that as queer, diasporic persons of color, cultural production are the spaces where we can resist the violence of marginalization and begin to not only imagine decolonial relationships, but actively put them into practice. Jared Zarantonello aka Yared Sound is a sound artist, producer and educator whose work sits at the intersection of critical history, migration and sound. His mixes and productions employ strategies of sonic archivism, dub versioning, and pure rhythm-science with the hope of mobilizing people and ideas to the dancefloor. Learn more at rhythmsciencesound.com and follow them on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and SoundCloud.
Virtual Barn Raisin’ continues our Capital Campaign to raise $350,000 to secure 10 acres purchased in 2018 and restore the historic tobacco barn for additional classrooms, events and exhibit space. If you’d like to learn more about how to support this effort, please contact christina[at]josephinesculpturepark.org.
