Celebrate International Sculpture Day at the STEAM Festival at JSP!
On Saturday, April 27 the world will join in celebration of sculpture during the 4th annual International Sculpture Day, or IS Day. Artists, organizations and institutions worldwide will celebrate the day with open studios, unveiling public sculptures, sculpture scavenger hunts, pop up exhibitions, demonstrations, iron pours, plus much more.

Come celebrate International Sculpture Day and visit the activity booths from Newton’s Attic, Lexington Philharmonic, UK Solar Race Car Team, a JSP astronomer, and the CDS students at the STEAM Festival at Josephine Sculpture Park! Explore booths featuring hands-on activities combining science, technology, engineering, and mathematics together with ART!
Capital Day School’s student art creations will also be on display for silent auction purposes. Please make all bids through FB for the auction. The auction will end promptly at 1pm. Items will be posted individually on Capital Day School‘s FB feed for one week prior to the fair for viewing and bidding purposes.
STEAM is a movement championed by Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and widely adopted by institutions, corporations and individuals.
The objectives of the STEAM movement are to:
-transform research policy to place Art + Design at the center of STEM
-encourage integration of Art + Design in K–12 education
-influence employers to hire artists and designers to drive innovation
