Come ready to work, learn & meet new friends! Join us for a community planting day with Frankfort Audubon Society as our October First Sunday Guided Nature Tour series! During 2019, Josephine Sculpture Park and Frankfort Audubon Society have partnered to increase bird and native plant habitat educational experiences in our community, with support from a National Audubon Society grant. Our projects at JSP have included restoring a native grass and flower meadow, hosting bird-themed nature tours and programs at the park and in the community, and hosting Justin Roberts as a JSP artist-in-residence to build a sculptural bird blind made from invasive plants harvested at the park.
This community planting day is our culminating event! With generous support from the Lexington Wild Ones Chapter, Connie May of Chrysalis Natural Landscape, Frankfort Audubon Society, Joyce Bender and several individuals, we will plant over 100 native plant starts around the bird blind sculpture. Also with support from Frankfort Wild Birds Unlimited and Kristin Nelson, we will install several bird feeders around the bird blind.
SPONSORS: THANK YOU!
