This FREE event will train participants to use the equipment and methods that most effectively and safely control invasive shrubs and trees. We’ll focus on common methods and the equipment readily available to landowners.

Agenda

Morning – Kentucky State University Research and Demonstration Farm

  • Intro to brush management techniques for different situations
  • Equipment use
  • Herbicides use and safety

Lunch – Provided by KSU

Afternoon – Josephine Sculpture Park

  • Training stations demonstrating brush management methods
    • Equipment – Power equipment, hand tools, sprayers
    • Methods – Cut-stump, foliar spray, hack-n-squirt, basal bark
    • Herbicides – Mixing, applying, safety
