That same year he was awarded the International Sculpture Center’s Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award.
During Goerlitz’s tenure at SUNY Plattsburgh, he has had many national and international solo exhibitions, large-scale outdoor sculpture exhibitions, and group exhibitions. Goerlitz has collaborated with Associate Professor Ali Della Bitta on three commissioned large-scale projects. He also has had nine artist residencies both nationally and internationally. Goerlitz creates a large amount of his work in coordination with Art-St-Urban, his gallery in Switzerland.
