Doug Schatz

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Doug Schatz has an undergraduate degree in art and geology from Skidmore College, and received an MFA in sculpture from the University of Kentucky in 1999. He has been an art educator in sculpture since 1999. Doug has taught at Middle Tennessee State University, Watkins College of Art and Design, currently teaches at the State University of New York in Potsdam, NY.

He has exhibited sculptures nationally and internationally. His work has been in numerous solo and group shows where he has displayed large scale outdoor work, as well as smaller, more intimate scale sculptures.



Doug has been organizing and participating in art groups and art events for the last 15 years. Currently he is on the Board of Trustees for the International Sculpture Center, publishers of Sculpture Magazine and Sculpture.org.

This sculpture is currently on Exhibition at Expree Credit Union in Frankfort, KY as part of the JSP Art in Public Places Program.
