ABOUT THE ARTIST

McKinney breaks the stereotype of fine art with colorful and multi-media paintings that bring the artwork off the canvas. As a teenager, he spent lots of time exploring underground graffiti culture, as his family moved between Washington, D.C., Virginia and Kentucky. Once he began studying art in his undergrad years, he transitioned his painting style, meshing mediums to create a colorful style full of form and movement.



McKinney’s pieces often spill outside the frame, which gives the artwork a bit of freedom rather than confining it to the canvas.
